Aunque la vida en la Villa nunca es fácil al menos ofrece a sus habitantes multitud de caminos para el desarrollo. Unos optarán por hacer carrera en el concejo, otros en la iglesia, mientras algunos elegirán viajar y ver mundo.

Durante la partida cada jugador controlará el destino de una familia en busca de prosperidad, teniendo siempre en cuenta un factor muy importante: el tiempo avanza inexorable y eventualmente algunos miembros de la familia fallecerán.

La Villa es un juego repleto de desafíos. El ingenioso mecanismo de acción asegura que cada turno será breve pero a su vez obligará a tomar difíciles decisiones. Destaca especialmente la manera en que el juego introduce el tema de la muerte. Como parte natural de la vida, esta se presentará con cierta frecuencia en la Villa exigiendo en todo momento una eficaz gestión del tiempo.
